Impossible = I’m possible

Impossible is Nothing!

This phrase I heard regarding the story of  Lance Armstrong. He was diagnosed in 1996 with cancer, bedridden and given only maximum of one year to live.  But he did not give up, he promised that he will be healed and will soon join the famous Tour de France. After 3 years, he won The Tour de France with a breaking seven-consecutive years from 1999 – 2005.lance

How did he survive testicular cancer?  It’s the power of positive thinking, never thinking of something worst to happen, but thinking of still winning the championship.

I am fond of reading this types of success story.  Just like the story of Nick Vujicik, a man who was born without arms and legs, but guess what, he is still one of the powerful motivators in the world. nick He also build his own foundation to help, unite, inspire and empower people who are disabled. So after hearing those stories, i can say that Impossible = I ‘m possible.  Failure is just a state of mind, failure is a word created by those who gave up.  As long as we keep on trying, as long as we never give up, there is Hope.  You Become what you Think according to Walt Disney.  So Always think positive.

FarmTown or Farm Ville

farmtownMy Farm Town

Surprise! I am now in level 32, suddenly.  Last time I played, it was level 29.  Yes, facebook changed the XP points per level in Farm Town.  But which is more interesting, Farm Town or Farm ville? Maybe it depends upon the player, for me I like Farm Town coz I havent tried playing Farm Ville yet .hehehe.

Anyway, both are fun to play. What is more interesting is, it changes a lot here in our Company accomdation.  Before without Facebook, we usually drink beer or wine every evening, or play Tongits to fight boredom here abroad.  But Farmtown and farmville changes everything.  Every end of shift, everybody rushes to their computers to check their farms.  Even while having a dinner, they cant stop talking and comparing their farms, others requesting for gifts. Others requesting to harvest and others are competing in Xp points. It’s a good thing for everybody because instead of spending too much in drinking and playing tongits, we can now enjoy with just 40Dirhams/month for internet charge.

So lets all enjoy having a Dream Farm in Farm Town or Farm Ville.

Buttered Shrimp

Garlic Buttered Shrimp

buttered

First time I tasted this buttered shrimp was in Dampa in Paranaque and I really really loved it.  Now the question was, how do they cook it.  I tried so many times, figuring out what is the best recipe for this menu.  Finally I was able to please myself with this recipe I wanted to share with you.

Ingredients

Shrimps/Prawns of course ( Tiger Prawns prefered)

Butter

Royal/mirinda/Fanta whichever you prefer

Garlic

Thai Sweet Chili Sauce

First I marinated the shrimps to Fanta and cooked for 3 minutes.  Dont overcook.  Then I drained the shrimps and set aside the soup.  In a separate pan, I sauted the garlic in butter and added the shrimps. Then I added the soup and let it boil for 1 minute. Finally, I added the Thai Sweet Chili sauce and cooked until sauce thickens.  At Last….my Garlic Buttered Shrimps.. Try it!

Who Moved my Cheese?

Walking Away from your Comfort Zone

Building confidence, relationship and respect to your working environment makes you more comfortable and happy with your work.  I was able to achieve that when I was a Process Engineer in an Electronics Manufacturing Company.  I was happy with my work, with my managers, technicians, operators and everything was easy for me.  I was in a comfort zone work wise. Then suddenly I have to walk away from It.  It was the most difficult decision I had made due to unexpected circumstances that I have to accept.ayala

I am now away from my comfort zone, working away from family and away from the work I love doing.  I have to adopt in a new environment, new circle of friends and develop confidence and respect.  I am inspired by one of the book I’ve read ” Who Moved my Cheese”.  It shows the four types of mentality with regards to adoptation and how will you accept changes specially walking away from your comfort zone. After reading this, I learned what attitude should I chose with regards to changes , and now I am more aware on what’s happening around me.  The only thing that constant is change.  So we have to be always ready and accept changes positively not the other way around. Move Forward.  Be Positive.

Weekend Treat

Image00002 Spicy Sizzling Squid ( Pusit )

It’s a Thursday afternoon, the weekend here in UAE.  Right before my shift ended, I was thinking of what special menu I would cook for my wife after a long week of hardwork and away from her.   I dropped by the supermarket, Spinneys in Al Hamra Mall, to search for something to cook that my wife will surely likes.

Hmmmn, shrimp, fish or pork, but I’ve noticed a special promo on this pusit ( squid ) and I’ve been craving for this for sometime.  So without hesitation, I bought a kilo and 1 dirham of Green pepper.

Here are the ingredients I used for my menu.

1 kilo squid

1 onion

1 big tomato

Soy Sauce

Oyster Saue

Banana Catchup

Green peppers

butter

I sliced the squid into rings and began my Patsam menu.  I melted the butter on the cooking pan, and added sliced onions, tomato and squid.  I let it boiled on its own soup for 2 minute in high heat and added Soy sauce, oyster sauce and 1 tbspoon of catchup.  Finally, the green pepper to make it spicy and KALAS…  A Spicy Sizzling Squid for my weekend treat to my wife.  Chow!!!!!
